Mukesh & Lata - Je Ham Tum Choree Se - Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke [1969]

"Dharti Kahe Pukarke" OR "Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke" [1969] is an Indian Hindi film directed by Dulal Guha. Starring Nanda, Jeetendra and Sanjeev Kumar. Music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri........... Mukesh Chand Mathur (Hindi: मुकेश चन्द माथुर) (22 July 1923 27 August 1976) was an Indian playback singer of Bollywood. Along with Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, he dominated Indian film playback music from the 1950s to the 1970s. Mukesh's voice was noticed by Motilal (a popular actor in Hindi films, also a distant relative of Mukesh) when he sang at his sister's wedding. Motilal took him to Bombay, let him stay with him and even arranged for singing lessons by pandit jagannath prasad for him. During this period, Mukesh managed to bag a role in a Hindi film, Nirdosh (Innocent) (1941). His first song was dil hi bujha hua ho to as an actor singer for Nirdosh. He got his break as a playback singer for Actor Motilal himself in 1945 with the film Pehli Nazar'music by Anil Biswas & Lyrics by Aah Sitapuri' (First Look). The first song he sang for a Hindi film was Dil Jalta Hai to Jalne De (If the heart burns, let it burn), which was incidentally picturised on Motilal. Mukesh died of a heart attack on 27 August 1976 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, where he had gone for a concert. His body was carried back to India by Lata Mangeshkar, where a grand funeral ceremony took place as many famous actors, personalities of the Indian film industry, and fans paid tribute to the late singer. When the news of his death reached Raj Kapoor, he remarked, "I have lost my voice," which is a testimony to the timeless and unforgettable association of Mukesh's voice (in playback) to the immensely popular songs of Raj Kapoor's films. SONG:IS MOD SE JAATE HAIN MUSIC:R.D.BURMAN LYRICS:GULZAR SINGER:LATA MANGESHKAR & KISHORE KUMAR FILM:AANDHI Aandhi is a 1975 Indian movie supposedly based on then-prime minister Indira Gandhi's life, but in reality, it was inspired by Tarkeshwari Sinha, apart from Indira Gandhi. It was directed by Gulzar and prodused by J.Om Prakash. The film stars Sanjeev Kumar,Suchitra Sen and The movie was not allowed a full release as the similarity to Mrs Gandhi's life held it up while she was in power. After her loss in the 1977 elections, the ruling Janata party cleared it and had it premiered on national television. The music of this film was composed by Rahul Dev Burman with lyrics by Gulzar sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar . Songs like Tere Bina Zindagi, Tum Aa Gaye Ho and Is Mod Se Jate Hain are considered classics in Indian cinema. Suchitra Sen (born 6 April 1931) or Roma Dasgupta is a Indian actress who appeared in Bengali cinema films. In particular, the movies in which she paired opposite another legend in Bangla films, Uttam Kumar, are all-time classics in Bengali cinema. She now lives a life of a recluse rarely making any public appearances. When she left movies, she was slowly but steadily losing the position of leading lady of Bengali silver screen. She is the first Indian actress to be awarded in an international film festival (Best Actress award for the movie Saat Paake Bandha in 1963 Moscow film festival). Her films with Uttam Kumar are still shown as re-runs on Bengali TV channels. Suchitra was born in Pabna, British India (now Bangladesh). Her father Karunamoy Dasgupta was the head master of the local school and her mother's name was Indira Dasgupta. She was their fifth child and third daughter. She had formal education in Pabna. She married Dibanath Sen, son of a wealthy Bengali industrialist, Adinath Sen, in 1947 and had one child, Moon Moon Sen, a noted actress. She made her debut in films with Shesh Kothaay in 1952, but the film was never released. The following year saw her act opposite Uttam Kumar in Sharey Chuattor. The film became a box-office hit and it was remembered for launching Uttam-Suchitra as a leading pair. They went on to become the icons for Bengali dramas for more than 20 years, becoming almost a genre to themselves. She received a Best Actress Award for the film Devdas (1955), which was her first Hindi movie. Her patented Bengali melodramas and romances especially with Uttam Kumar, made her the most famous Bengali actress ever. Her films ran through the 1960s and the 1970s. Her husband died, but she continued to act in films, such as the Hindi hit film Aandhi (1974), where she played a politician. Aandhi was inspired by India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress, while Sanjeev Kumar, who essayed the role of her husband, won the Filmfare as Best Actor. Her international success came in the year of 1963, when she won the best actress award in Moscow Film Festival for the movie Saat Paake Bandha. In fact, she is the first female to receive an international film award. She refused Satyajit Ray's offer due to date problem, as a result Ray never made the film Devi Chawdhurani. She also refused Raj Kapoor's offer for a film under RK banner. She retired from the screen in 1978 after a career of over 25 years to a life of quiet seclusion. She has avoided the public gaze after her retirement and has devoted her time to the Ramakrishna Mission. Suchitra Sen was a contender for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2005, provided she was ready to accept it in person. Her refusal to go to New Delhi and personally receive the award from the President of India deprived her of that award.
