Agra Fort & Taj Mahal - Frank & Jen Travel India 12

After spending the morning at Fatehpur Sikri, we finish our time in Agra at the last UNESCO World Heritage Site, Agra Fort. It was constructed in 1573 by Mughal emperor Akbar, and added on by his grandson Shah Jahan. Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal as a mausoleum for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, but was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb for the last eight years of his life, and could only watch the Taj Mahal from his prison cell window. The fort is now a major tourist attraction and exquisite example of Mughal architecture, with famous buildings such as Khas Mahal and Jahangiri Mahal. Technical notes: Shot with a Canon 60D camera and 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS lens, handheld. Photos are HDR panoramas. Music credit: "Wind Song" by SooSLiX, and "Beautiful People Ugly Mashines" by The Ninjazz, both of Tunguska Electronic Music Society.
