1 Year in Asia Backpacking + Pictures (Advice from a Single Female Traveler)

All about my 1 year trip through Asia overland, backpacking along the old Silk Road (aka the Hippie Trail) on a shoestring budget by myself. The tour operator I went with is Dragoman. My trip had a lot of ups and downs but for hard-to-travel countries it was a good option. I think I'm just not a "group" traveler. http://www.dragoman.com/ The book I mention is "First Time Asia" by Rough Guides available here: http://www.amazon.com/Rough-Guide-First-Time-Asia/dp/1848364741?ie=UTF8&qid=1317581174&sr=8-1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=misschitv-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325 Subscribe to my main Youtube channel for makeup tutorials, hauls and beauty videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/MissChievous Add my social networks for exclusive sneak previews, giveaways, pictures, and much more! Orchha Palace Complex & Raj Mahal - Frank & Jen Travel India 15

Frank's magical afternoon walk continues outside Jahangir Mahal amongst deserted ruins. The camel stables rooftop offered a spectacular 360 degree view of the countryside, and the eerie royal garden was made all the more surreal by a live prayer from a mystery source. We wrap up the day at Raj Mahal, where monkeys roam (and engage in crazy animal sex, crazily short that is) outside, and beautiful wall paintings are rumored to be inside. "Taking crystal clear pictures under the light of a full moon, having walked in the steps of history for hours on end, with no crowds and only serenity, I realize that I just had one of the best afternoons of my life." Technical notes: Shot in 1080p HD with a Canon 60D camera and 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS lens. Photos are HDR panoramas. Music credits: "Blood And Glory" by Audiomachine, "Transfiguration" by Two Steps From Hell, "Shivers" by Sultan, "Moonshine" by Two Steps From Hell, "So Serene" by Mark Otten. INDIA Travel Photography | across all of India with Tom Carter

Follow travel photographer Tom Carter at http://www.facebook.com/indiatravelphotography and http://www.facebook.com/chinaportrait National Geographic Radio interviews Tom Carter about India. Listen: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/radio/episodes/NGW-411/ngwkd1024-hour2_seg1.mp3 Fresh off the success of his groundbreaking new photo book CHINA: Portrait of a People, yet refusing to rest on his laurels, travel photographer Tom Carter has announced his next destination: India. http://www.flipkart.com/books/9889979942 http://www.amazon.com/CHINA-Portrait-People-Tom-Carter/dp/9889979942 "Having already photographed the people of the world's most populous country, I saw it only fitting to now focus on the second-most populous country," said the native San Franciscan at a recent press conference. The result of this epic expedition, Carter anticipates, will be his second book of photography, INDIA: Portrait of a People. http://www.tomcarter.org http://twitter.com/tomcarter415 35-year-old Carter made headlines in 2008 for his unprecedented 2-year, 56,000 kilometer journey across the 33 provinces of China, which resulted in the creation of his 640-page book of photography CHINA: Portrait of a People. Considered the most comprehensive book of photography on modern China ever published by a single author, the photo book was a critical and commercial success. http://www.flickr.com/photos/indiaphotography/ http://indiaphotographer.blogspot.com/ It will be the American freelance photographer's first visit to the Republic of India; however the intrepid Carter will be jumping in with both feet to travel the length and breadth of the vast South Asian nation. "I intend to photograph all 35 states/territories and traverse as much of India's 3.3 million square kilometers as possible. It may take a couple of years, but I won't rest until I have created the definitive India photo book, something any single author has yet to do." ###

Orchha Chaturbhuj Hindu Temple - Frank & Jen Travel India 16

The Chaturbhuj Temple is the most imposing structure in Orchha. It is also highly unusual among Hindu temples, with its high ceilings, many windows, and cross-shaped foundation. Jen finally feels better after two days of massive sickness, so we are able to climb to the top of the temple for the absolute best view of Orchha's sights and monuments: Ram Raja Temple, Raj Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Betwa River, and the Cenotaphs. Technical notes: Shot in 1080p HD with a Canon 60D camera and 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS lens. Photos are HDR panoramas. Music credits: "Un Simple Histoire" by Thievery Corporation, "Budapest Eskimos" by The Lushlife Project, "Slowburn" by Max Melvin.
